Well I can't say that it has always been easy but my 2 month mark is today May 24th!  I found last week to be a very trying week... experiencing a lot of cravings...but I made it through by keeping busy and using a lozenge if the cravings got too bad.  I have been using my Facebook friends to hold me accountable by posting some of my milestones (2, 4 6 weeks etc) and it has helped alot...i had not realized that many of my family & friends smoked and quit years ago; their words of encouragement are appreciated.  I have also used this site...i don't often post on the site but i do checkin often.  Over the past few months I have continued with my 4 mile walks Monday through Friday each morning, which I find helps set my frame of mind for the day.  I have also be socializing a bit more, even trying a few things that are out of my comfort zone ( not pushing that to far though ).  It has been nice having more pocket change and I do celebrate my milestones in small ways.  I am on the Step 2 patch and looking forward to making it to the point where I am patch free.  Wish me luck ...sincerrly Hilda1234

    Good afternoon Hilda1234.

Congratulations on reaching your 2 month milestone. Sharing your experiences and thoughts is so helpful to those many readers and quitters out there, so a big thank you for coming on here today.  You are doing so very well: walking, socializing, keeping busy, using the lozenges, coming on to the site, the list is really long Hilda. Seems like smoking is just not an option for you anymore! You are choosing to do something else!

    Keep celebrating, you deserve it.

    You are an inspiration Hilda1234.

    Hi Hilda 1234,

Congratulations on two months smoke free! That is a great accomplishment. There are certainly challenges along the way. I too have found lozenges help and occasionally I chew a piece of Nicotine gum. Like you and your family, mine all quit years ago which left me pretty much as a lonely smoker until I quit a few months ago. The exercise you are getting is great and the extra money always does come in handy.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I wish you luck!

    Hi Hilda1234,

I don't know what impresses me more, the fact that you have been smoke free for 2 months, or the fact that you are walking 4 miles every day!!!  Wow, Hilda, you inspire the heck out of me!  LOL

Seriously, good for you.  And keep rewarding yourself.  You deserve it!
