It has now been 27 hours smoke free. I have found keeping myself occupied with a number of activities has made the time fly by. I do think about smoking sometimes but it seems to be distant and theoretical. I can be a procrastinator so actually doing something about it seems like too much work. My spread sheet tells me I have now saved $16.74, but more important all of those harmful chemicals are exiting my system. I can feel my blood pressure is coming down. I would have to say that is a better instant gratification than smoking can deliver.

    Way to go, eagerquit!

Yes, your blood pressure should certainly improve.  I noticed pretty early on that my heart was no longer pounding just from doing a flight of stairs.  It's amazing how as smokers, we either don't notice, or we just choose to ignore, the negative impact smoking has on our health.  Once we quit, it doesn't take long to figure out what some of the benefits of quitting are.

I hope you have another great day, eagerquit.  Just take it one step at a time.
