    Hi quitforme76

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. I quit several months ago using nicotine lozenges and gum to combat the cravings. I made a list of my reasons for quitting and still have that in front of me. I also set up a list of rewards for quitting that have been gradually implemented. Four D's to keep in mind:

Delay. The urge will pass whether you smoke or not.
    Deep breathe.
    Drink water.
Do something to take your mind off smoking.

I wish you every success with your plan.

    Hi ryanheald,

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. I hope you have a quit plan in place to help you get through the withdrawals. Coming to the forums and reading about others' successes was an important part of my own quit plan.

    Wishing you every success.
