    Hi Autumn272,
Congratulations on Day 3!  I'm on the Patch and use other NRT as I was advised to wear 2x 21 mg. patches.  I have been smoking since I was 14, so over 40 years.  It won't happen overnight, and I knew I'd need extra support because I have suffered from depression and anxiety in the past, and being able to cope well is so great for getting through the first 3 months or so.  Like Marianne says, it helps to get a team of professionals on board for your quit, and what to expect in terms of anxiety and depression.  I used my family Doctor, then through this site I found a quit program at a local hospital, and I use the phone system here on SHO, and I reach out daily here online.  It can be done, you just need to make a plan and follow through and reach out.
It's also good for self-confidence.  It seems the really hard things that make us fearful bring the greatest rewards once we overcome them.  And it spills over onto other area's as well.  I was afraid, but took all of these baby steps to quit and I'm still here in my 4th week.  I've so much more to do, but I'm overcoming my fears.  I did not think I'd ever get to 4 weeks, trust me!
