Lucky,
I was hit with some major cravings, like almost an entire day at a time, just after i passed 4 weeks.
Kind of a last gasp from the addict in my head. Mind you, I went cold turkey so at that point no nicotine in my system, it was all mental craving. I've heard others who quit also talk about the major last craving around weeks 4-6. I did the same as you and hopped onto smokers helpline for reassurance.
I'm at 10 weeks quit now. I still get the odd craving, but these are more passing flights of fancy as opposed to anything really physical. It is hard as smoking was such a big part of our lives for so many years, and that habit part doesn't just go away overnight.
At 5 weeks you are doing great and just need to keep working on getting used to being a non-smoker.
