My last smoke was before noon yesterday. It didn’t get hard till afternoon today. Been craving all evening, eating diner made it worse. I have lots of triggers.
I didn’t go to the smoke store when I was out, just got milk. That’s a good start.  Drinking water.
I’ve quit so many times I can’t count, but never been able to stay stopped. I’ve tried every type of nrt, none worked for long. Didn’t like champix. Depression get bad sometimes. I feel like it’s too late and I’m gonna die anyway.
we’ll try to get over it this time

    Hi eddie

Congrats in 1 smoke free day, is amassing, all that you feel is normal, It will pass by no time!
You need to distract yourself from the crave, do something when you had it, drink water, eat some healthy snack, go for a walk, etc...

Believe in your wish to quit! you can do this!

I can not remember how many I tried to quit until I finally did! The matter is to be Focus with your Mind and heart to be free!

What I am trying to say is No matter how you feel in different situations, smoking is never the solution!

Have a Fabulous Smoke free day!

Heyy eddie, congratulations my friend, your doing it, i think we all have been where you are, we all had a day 1, you got a good start, I have a couple of months in now, I think what made this quit different for me was distracting myself, brieffree said go for a walk, thats what was different for me this time aroundthere are so many reasons for starting again, giving in, but I think that the secret to quitting is finding that one reason, that one motivation for remaining smoke free, figure that out and you will not fail, stay in touch Bro, blessings my friend

HEY THERE EDDIE WAY TO GO ON YOUR FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE BEING A NON SMOKER.  I KNOW YOU MUST FEEL PROUD OF YOURSELF DEEP DOWN INSIDE.  BEFORE I GO ANY FARTHER I MUST EXPLAIN THE CAPS - I AM SIGHT IMPAIRED AND WANT TO SEE WHAT I AM SAYING SO I USE CAPS AND ALL IS WELL IN MY LITTLE WORLD.  SO THE CRAVINGS COME AND GO BUT IN THE BEGINNING YOU SHOULD TURN TO THE INFORMATION IN DISTRACTIONS.  WATER, WATER AND MORE WATER - IT REALLY HELPS.  I HAVE A SECRET THAT REALLY AROUND HERE IS NO SECRET ANYMORE.  IF YOU LIKE THE FLAVOR OF CINNAMON THEN GO TO THE PHARMACY OR ANY STORE THAT SELLS RUSSEL STOVER CANDIES AND CHOCOLATES AND DON'T BUY THE CHOCOLATES !!!  :D  LOOK FOR THEIR CINNAMON HARD CANDIES AND THEY ARE USUALLY CARRIED IN THE DIABETIC SECTION SINCE THEY ARE SUGAR FREE.  WHEN YOU FEEL A CRAVE COMING ON GRAB A CANDY AND PUT IT YOUR MOUTH AND SLOWLY LET IT MELT IN YOUR MOUTH AND POOF !!!  CRAVING IS GONE.  MY HUSBAND PHIL USED THEM WHEN HE QUIT WHICH INCIDENTALLY WAS ON THE DAY OF MY ONE YEAR QUIT.  HE WENT TO THE QUIT SMOKING GROUP AT OUR LOCAL HOSPITAL AND STILL GOES FROM TIME TO TIME JUST TO SHOW EVERYONE THERE THAT IT ACTUALLY WORKS. THEY ALL CALL HIM THE CINNAMON MAN :D  ANOTHER THING THAT REALLY HELPED ME AND A WHOLE PILE OF US QUITTERS WAS TO READ THE POSTS - I KNOW THERE ARE PLENTY BUT READING IS A DETERRENT AND THERE IS SO MUCH INFORMATION THAT OTHERS HAVE LEFT FOR THE NEXT BRAVE QUITTER IN LINE.  FOR ME THIS OCTOBER WILL BE 6 YEARS AND I AM REALLY PROUD OF MYSELF SINCE I TRIED TO QUIT SO MANY TIMES I THOUGHT I WAS THE QUEEN OF QUIT BUT WHEN I DID KICK THE HABIT OF SMOKING 4 PACKS A DAY AND DID IT COLD TURKEY I SHOCKED MYSELF.  EACH PERSON'S QUIT IS DIFFERENT AS GOD MADE US ALL DIFFERENT BUT THE IDEAS THAT WE COME UP WITH TO BEAT THAT OLD DEMON INTO THE GROUND WILL HELP THE NEXT PERSON HAVING TROUBLES.  WELL MY NEW FRIEND I HOPE AND PRAY THAT SOMETHING THAT I SAID  HELPS YOU AND IF YOU NEED ANY HELP OR HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE DON'T BE SHY OR AFRAID TO ASK AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID OR SILLY QUESTION SO FOR NOW MAY THE SUN ALWAYS SHINE ON YOU

    Hi Eddie,

Good on you for taking that first huge step - actually quitting!  That is so important because it is not easy to quit!  I have also quit many times, and this time was really hard for me to quit again.
I had smoked for decades.  The first few weeks were tough for me.  What helped me was:
    -Smokers Helpline
    -drinking lots of water
    -deep breathing
-knowing my triggers and working around them as best I could
-being clear on my reasons for quitting and going over those frequently
-NRT - nicotine gum and lozenges

Since I quit four and half months ago, there has been triggers, but I am avoiding them, or coming up with other strategies to deal with them, to get me through.

    I'm rooting for ya Eddie!

    Aurora

    Hi eddie,

It's great that you are giving it another shot.  Good for you.  And it is NEVER too late.  I smoked for over 43 years.  My lungs have been badly damaged by smoking, but I quit 1.7 years ago, and it was so worth the effort.  My breathing had improved dramatically.  My speaking voice is actually louder now because I have more breath.  I can climb a flight of stairs without my heart pounding out of my chest.  And I no longer worry about having smoke breath or stinky clothes.

You can do this, eddie.  Drink lots of water, and try to distract yourself.  Keep extra busy.  I know it's hard, but the days will fly by, you'll see.  And you will be happy with all of the extra days of life you will have, and the money you will save.
