Hi Steven,  it feels great to be smoke free for 3 years now. :)  No more smelling like cigarette, more money to spend on kids or on family meals.   I also gained so much confidence in myself that I am also now running mini 10ks once or twice a week, and I never could run even 1ks back in high school. :)

Hi Emily, no plans really. However, I have taken many trips in the past two years with my family using all the I money saved after kicking out the nasty habit. I saved over $12k in the last 3 years. :)

    Jeyan,

    400 days today for me.

I think I finally understand where you are coming from. Talk about a total change in perspective after something like 12000 days of smoking, and only 400 days since I quit.

400 days and absolutely no cravings!!!!!

    Jeyan,

    Congrats on 4 years smoke-free!!!!!!
I think back to the early days of my quit and wavering and then seeing one of your updates that you were at like 800 days smoke free with no cravings and i though - if he can do it, then I can do that too.

Jeyan, congrats on being a non-smoker for four years!  That is amazing!

And atp, look how far you have come!  Aren't you just thrilled that you were able to quit?  There is so much freedom in living a smoke free life.  I can't tell you the number of times I have had to sit in a waiting room and realized that I no longer had to deal with cravings.  It is such a relief.  Whew!  I am so happy for us all!

    Hi Friends:

I am now 4.5 years smoke free as of today. This can be done. You just need to say nope, and get back to your quit after every relapse, and you do not need be ashamed. You're doing this for yourself. I relapsed twice and now finally smoke free for 4.5 years, and I never have cravings anymore, never had it after the first year. Key is never another puff ever again.

    Hey, Jeyan, congratulations!!!

You're so right: there's no need to be ashamed after a slip or a relapse. Better to give yourself credit for the attempt, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again. Keep learning as you go. Practice makes perfect, and you are the perfect example of this, Jeyan.

Thanks for sharing your success with us!

    Hey Jeyan,

Way to go!  Isn't it great to finally be free of this rotten addiction?  I have been a non-smoker for over four years now too, and what a relief.  Just think of all the money we spent, the time wasted, the damage done to our bodies.  Life is so much better on this side!

Treepeo - Well old friend, I dare you start a new thread with a poem in "my journey" under the heading "Ode to & Adieu to Smoking".  I further dare you to challenge other coaches & visitors to the site to add another verse to what you will start.  Are you up to it!
