    Hi,

Two and a half days and the cravings are pretty intense. One of my defenses is to read more on the harmful effects of cigarettes and another is to contribute to this forum. I read that the cost of producing 300 cigarettes is one tree used in various parts of the process, and the filters are non-biodegradable so just sit in the landfill. A flicked cigarette on the grass contributes to harmful chemicals in the rivers and lakes. That same cigarette had just put those same chemicals into my body and into the air.

I went paperless a decade ago due to environmental concerns but missed this very harmful item. I owe it to the environment to quit.

    Hi Eagerquit,
That's some interesting and pretty neat trivia.  I've wanted to do a bit of research to find out how my body is healing in these early months.  The health points sort of skip from those first few days and weeks to nothing after three weeks and I'd like to know more of how I'm healing at each week.  It'd be intersting and motivating to have more facts.

    Hi Ocean,

You might like to check the "Medical News Today" website for a little more about body development in months one to nine after quitting.

    Hi Eagerquit,

You are in the thick of it right now.  I know the cravings must really be getting to you, so good for you for keeping yourself distracted.  And thanks for sharing the info on the environment.  Very interesting, and yet another reason to keep the quit.
